Harness Training - Cart Driver Training - Horse Teams: David Eisenberg has 24 years of harness training for singles and teams and all breeds including draft horses, mules and miniature horses. Travel out of Colorado can be arranged with all expenses paid.

Stone Boat for Harness Training

The stone boat serves as a training device that introduces the horse to pulling weight. This is one of the preliminary steps for preparing a horse to pull a carriage or similar vehicle.

Second week of training: eight year Percheron Mare with no previous training pulling a stone boat.

Driving in the Cart

The two wheel cart follows the initial ground work including stone boat training. The horse is usually ready to be hooked to the cart if he has successfully completed his preliminary work and is well behaved. From this point the horse will log many miles of driving in the cart.

Getting to Know Each Other

Some people like to take part in the training of their horses. John Denver was one such individual. John wanted to share in the training and became an accomplished driver at the end of the training period.

Team Training Your Horses

Ringo and buddy were both individually trained to drive before they were driven as a team. Each horse not only learned good manners but also became accomplished team workers.
